Monthly Enman no Tomo
Enman No Tomo takes place on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Memorial Hall. (Meetings are not held in the months of January and July.) Contact info@sonomacojacl.org for more information.
Enman No Tomo was established in February, 1984 after a conference on aging sponsored by the JACL and the Enmanji Buddhist Temple during which a need for a place for the Japanese-speaking elders to meet for socializing was determined.

Participants:
The program is for seniors of 55 years of age and over. It is open to all groups of people, although participants are predominately of Japanese ethnic backgrounds. The program has been evolving over the years when initially it was established for the Japanese-speaking population. It is now made up of the older Nisei population. We have also attracted those people from Japan who have emigrated in the last 20 to 30 years.

Activities:
The format of the monthly program has remained continuous since its beginnings. It includes exercises, a period for activities such as arts and crafts, musical performances, and speakers on various topics pertinent to the members. Lunch is provided for a minimal donation. The highlight of each meeting is playing bingo. There is ample opportunity for socialization. Two to four field trips are scheduled during the year in addition to the monthly meetings. The organization sponsors seminars on issues and concerns relating to aging.
